State and Federal law require that ALL gas stations have an SDS for each hazardous substance they use or store at their location and make the sheets available to employees. Their purpose is to provide information on the hazards of working with a chemical and procedures that should be used to ensure safety and includes the following:
· Identification: for the product and supplier.
· Hazards: physical (fire and reactivity) and health.
· Prevention: steps you can take to work safely, reduce, or prevent exposure, or in an emergency.
· Response: appropriate responses in various situations (e.g., first-aid, fire, accidental release).
